Energy Performance Contracts (EPCs) play a pivotal role in driving energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives, offering a structured framework for performance-based business models. In Slovenia, the EBENTO project has recently undertaken a series of in-depth interviews in May with key stakeholders, including ESCO partners and building managers. The primary objective was to analyse and redefine EPCs, shedding light on the current state of affairs, identifying areas for improvement, exploring innovative business models, and anticipating upcoming changes in the energy performance landscape.

The EBENTO project engaged with five significant stakeholders to gain diverse perspectives on EPCs. ESCO partners, recognized for their expertise in delivering energy services, and building managers, responsible for the day-to-day operations of energy-efficient buildings, provided invaluable insights. These interviews were designed to be comprehensive, covering a spectrum of topics related to the analysis and definition of performance-based business models within the context of EPCs.

The EBENTO project’s interviews with Slovenian stakeholders have provided a comprehensive overview of the current state of Energy Performance Contracts. By delving into the challenges, opportunities, and innovations within the EPCs, the project aims to contribute to the evolution of sustainable and efficient energy practices in Slovenia.
