EU Energy Projects Podcast: How EBENTO is Streamlining Green Renovations in Europe

March 31, 2025

In the latest episode of the EU Energy Projects Podcast, guest host Ross Hastie from ENLIT sits down with Alejandra del Valle, project coordinator of the EU-funded EBENTO initiative, to explore how this ambitious project is set to transform building renovations across Europe.

As Europe pushes forward with its energy transition goals, one of the biggest challenges remains: upgrading the continent’s aging building stock to be more energy efficient. That’s where EBENTO comes in.

A One-Stop Shop for Smarter Renovations

EBENTO is developing a comprehensive digital platform that brings together all the key players in the building renovation sector—from homeowners and communities to energy service companies (ESCOs) and financial institutions. Its core mission? To simplify and accelerate the process of Energy Performance Contracts (EPCs), which are often bogged down by complexity and lack of clarity.

“Every renovation project starts with an agreement between the neighborhood, community, and other stakeholders. This is usually a very long process,” explains del Valle.

Connecting the Dots

By aggregating demand, supply, and financing options, EBENTO empowers decision-makers with better tools and clearer pathways. The platform supports more efficient planning, quicker execution, and informed decision-making—making it easier for communities to move forward with sustainable renovations.
